Countless! I use a relatively long exposure and a very short duration flash. This is an undesirable effect called 'ghosting', but I like it with the hummingbirds.

I hate to seem like a speciest, but all these birds look alike! These birds are noted for their constant fighting, but very rarely doing damage to each other; they weigh 3.2 grams.

How were you able to get such a close shot of a hummingbird? I've been trying and they spook so easily.

Let them get used to you being around. Really it's just how much time you have and how much patience you have. Mine will hand feed.

It was an innocent night at a local motel and we only rented the room for an hour; used a lot of quarters though! Thanks for the fav and the posting, Pete!

The eagle will sleep with the fishes if it sings like a canary. The couple in the next room have recanted and will be out of the ECU by tonight!

Slow speed, very short duration flash and high ISO. I set out to get this shot, only took 60 tries! Things here are hectic leaving very little time for DA; seems all I've been doing is faving and running. How is all with you?

I usually keep my flash on Manual and set at 1/16 power. I adjust my ISO for distance leaving the camera at 1/200 sec and f/5.6 for most photos.

With portrait, you arrange everything prior to shooting. We didn't have digital, but the HB had a Polaroid back; made life a little easier. Typically I shot two roles of 12 exp. with two different cameras. One 120 mm lens and the Rollie had a 80/2.8. I did better in the darkroom then I do with Photoshop.
