So far, Kevin, nothing I've photographed with the Canon MP-E has stayed still for more than one image! I think the one on the right had hemorrhoid issues; that would account for the reddish glow!

No, apparently the aphids give off a sweet syrup of some kind that the ants like, so the farm them. They seem to take good care of them.

Get set to dump a bundle then! I'm using a Canon 7D with the Canon MP-E lens. To reduce vibration I also bought a heavy tripod with a geared head. Lighting is supplied by a twin light Canon MP-24EX and the camera is fired remotely. There is slight vibration in this photo if you look closely I have to start putting a 2.5 kilo weight on the camera to remove this; or you can fire it hand held, shoot 200 photos and hope for one good one.

He needed Preparation H desperately, but his PRNK boss said that was a capitalist luxury and made him work.

this looks like extraordinary DOF !
and the image itself is extraordinary; simple and full of meaning;
and the blur going down adds another dimension to the image, more depth.

i love this one, Bravo!

This is at f/16 with the Canon MP-E 65 mm macro. Lighting is supplied by an MP24 EX macro light. Thanks for your compliments and comments. They're always appreciated.
